District 7: Broome, Chemung, Chenango, Cortland, Delaware, Otsego, Schuyler, Steuben, Tioga, Tompkins, Yates

The NYS AOH convention saw a total of 15 delegates from our divisions attend. All of District 7 divisions give a special thank you to Brother Tim Tobin for serving as our district director. Tim we wish you the best in your new role as NYS AOH chair of Charities and Missions.

Broome County Division 1 has welcomed 4 new members since the last news letter. A record number of 10 new members are slated for induction in September. Broome has several fund raisers slated for the fall.

The Msgr. John J. Lee Division One Chemung County has inducted 3 new members. Chemung is busy planning their annual Elmira Irish Festival to be held on September 11th at their clubhouse starting at 10am. The AOH Sons of Ireland in Hornell have been donating time and monies to the following in the last few months: Hornell little league, The Zachery D. Smith Memorial Golf Tournament and the Jerry Kelly Memorial Winner.

District 7 is comprised of 11 counties, Broome, Chemung, Chenango, Cortland, Delaware, Otsego, Schuyler, Steuben, Tioga, Tompkins and Yates.  One of my goals as the District director is to reach out to the counties that do not have a division in them to promote the AOH and to increase our membership within those areas. Thank you to all who elected me to the District Director position I look forward to working for you and your divisions.

Respectfully,

John Walker

District 7 Director
