District 6 Director Report September
District 6: Nassau, Suffolk
I would like to like to begin by congratulating all the new appointed and elected officers to the NYS Board and I would like to give a round of applause to the AOH and LAOH of Onondaga County for their hard work putting together a "Great" Convention in Syracuse. But on to business; Since the convention I've had the opportunity to attend both the Nassau and Suffolk County Board meetings and I am happy to say that all Divisions are working very hard on their "Summer Fund Raising Events". Annual golf outings, the Nassau County Feis and division food drives keep every officer and supporting member focused on the business at hand.
However, with all the various activities and events that are being worked on there are others with the organization who find the time to create ways to reach out to potential new members that may be interested in becoming a Hibernian due to a common ancestry or our special faith.
Currently, In District 6, many Catholic Action, Pro Life and Organizing Chairman are working together with a common interest to develop programs and messages that are being presented and shared in a number of local parishes in the district. For example, before Covid, the prayer card of St. Michael the Archangel, alone with the story that prompted its creation, was given to a local parish by the Hibernians. Please review and share the attached Files with your Divisions and members, these are available for every Division's use. If you have any questions, feel free to contact at me at anytime.
In Friendship, Unity, Christian Charity
