Hibernians Join in Welcoming Norwegian Airlines to Stewart Airport

Airline to Offer Discount Flights to Dublin, Belfast and Shannon beginning July 1, 2017

Members of the Ancient Order of Hibernians from Orange, Rockland and Sullivan County attended a press conference announcing new low cost flights to Ireland from Stewart International Airport beginning July 1st.  The members of the AOH were welcomed by Michael Torelli of the Port Authority of New York.

Hibernians from Orange, Rockland and Sullivan were in attendance.


Norwegian Airlines will offer non-stop service on its Boeing 737-MAX Jets to Dublin, Belfast and Shannon for as low as $69.00 each way.  Tickets went on sale that morning and over 2,500 tickets were already purchased at the conclusion of the event.

It is expected to attract thousands of travelers to Ireland who are looking for affordable travel to Europe.  It was also announced the there will be bus service between The Port Authority bus terminal in NYC and Stewart for around $18.00.

“Our new, non-stop service will enable tens of thousands of new travelers to fly between the continents much more comfortably and affordably,” said Norwegian Air Founder Bjørn Kjos.
