Brother Thomas Beirne, NYAOH District 4 Director and Catholic Action Chair was interviewed on Sunday, April 30, 2017 on the WABC Radio Talk Show “Religion on the Line”

The subject of the interview was the life of Martin McGuinness and his contributions  to the peace efforts, the traditions behind a “Month’s Mind” Memorial Mass and New York County AOH Division #9’s sponsorship of the Mass held in honor of the late Martin McGuinness at St. Patrick’s Cathedral the previous Monday, April 24th, 2017.  

Participating in the broadcast was Rabbi Joseph Potasnik and Deacon Kevin McCormick. Calling in during the broadcast was John Manning, NY State AOH Treasurer, with comments and compliments for Brother Beirne and his division brothers.

AOH New York County – Annual Respect Life Mass

Annual Respect Life Sunday Mass

The AOH New York County Board and the Sisters of Life will sponsor the Annual Respect Life Mass to be held at St. Patrick’s Cathedral in New York City on Sunday, October 2, 2016.

Mass will be at 10:15am. Members are asked to assemble in front of the Cathedral beginning at 9:30am. Dress code will be suits and sashes.

The New York County Board will host a breakfast after the mass.  Details will be posted soon.

Join Us in Observing the 1916 Rising

Proclamation_of_1916Join us for an historical day beginning with a Mass of Thanksgiving at St. Patrick’s Cathedral on Fifth Avenue and 50th St. where immediately following the Mass there will be a Grand Procession to the Irish Consulate located on Park Ave. and 51st Street. The Consulate will be the site of the commemorative reading of the 1916 Proclamation of the Irish Republic.

Tim McSweeney, NYAOH President has requested that all AOH Divisions, who plan on attending this event, come in “full regalia” which includes the wearing of ceremonial sashes and the display of division, county and state officer medallions. Division and county board banners are encouraged along with US and Irish national flags for the procession through the streets of Manhattan.

There will be a reception at the Irish Consulate which is by invitation only. However, the NY County Board will arrange several “after party” locations for AOH members at participating restaurants and pubs in the immediate area.  Further details will be shared as they become available. Please contact Tom Beirne, NYAOH District 4 Director and Event Coordinator at tombeirne4@hotmail.com with questions and to provide approximate numbers for those attending the Mass.

AOH NY County Board – Annual Respect Life Mass & Breakfast

The Archdiocese of New York will hold it’s Annual Respect Life Mass on October 4, 2015 at St. Patrick’s Cathedral in New York City at 10:15am. This mass will once again be co-sponsored by The New York State Ancient Order of Hibernians and The Sisters of Life Religious Order.

Members of The Order are requested to line up on the steps of The Cathedral starting at 9:30am. The assembly location will be at the North side of the Cathedral on 51st St. close to 5th Ave. Dress code for this event is dark conservative suits. AOH and LAOH members are encouraged to bring their medallions and sashes.

There will be a breakfast hosted by The AOH NY County Board after Mass.  The breakfast will be held at Maggie’s Place, 21 East 47th Street, located just 2 blocks from the Cathedral.  The cost will be $25.00 per member and will include breakfast, coffee, tea etc.  There will also be a cash bar available.  Please notify Tom Beirne if you plan on attending breakfast after the mass.

The Archdiocese of New York will hold it’s Annual Respect Life Mass on October 5, 2014 at St. Patrick’s Cathedral in New York City at 10:15am.  This mass will once again be co-sponsored by The New York State Ancient Order of Hibernians and The Sisters of Life Religious Order.

Members of The AOH are requested to line up on the steps of The Cathedral starting at 9:30am.  The assembly location will be at the corner of 51st Street and 5th Avenue.  Dress code for this event is dark conservative suits with AOH Medallions and Sashes.

There will be a breakfast hosted by The AOH NY County Board after Mass.  The breakfast will be held at Maggie’s Place, 21 East 47th Street.  There will be a $25.00 fee for a buffet breakfast with a cash bar.  The breakfast is scheduled to begin at 11:30AM.
