Major Degrees Exemplified in Brooklyn

On Saturday, April 21, 2018, the Order’s Major Degrees were exemplified by the Cu Chulainn Celtic Warrior Major Degree Team at Resurrection R.C. Parish auditorium in the Gerritsen Beach section of Brooklyn, NY. A class of thirty-six candidates comprised of Brothers hailing from Brooklyn, Queens and Staten Island Divisions were welcomed into the “Inner Circle of the Hibernian Brotherhood” by successfully undergoing the Second through Fourth Degrees of our Order.

There were also thirty-four Brothers on the sidelines who observed the Major Degrees, with several fraternal dignitaries including Bro. Charles “Chip” McLean, Past National Director, Bro. John Manning, New York State Secretary, Bro. Walter Cooper, Past District Director, and Bro. James K. Healy, a National Life Member, as well as numerous officers from the Kings, Queens and Richmond County Boards and Divisions.

The Major Degrees were exemplified by the Cu Chulainn Celtic Warrior Major Degree Team, who served in traditional Irish warrior regalia and weaponry. The impressive Degree Team was comprised of:

Bro. Sean King (Ard-Righ)
Bro. Dennis M. McClain (Brehon)
Bro. Thomas F. Gray (Bard)

The exemplification was deemed a tremendous success, and there was a great deal of positive feedback and praise for the Cu Chulainn Warrior Major Degree Team from both the candidates as well as the Brothers who observed the Major Degrees. A collation was enjoyed by all immediately following the exemplification (see attached photographs) with a rousing selection of Irish rebel music provided thanks to Bro. Vincent Gatens.
