Maguire, of the New York Air National Guard who eloquently linked The Motto of the Order–Friendship, Unity and Charity–to the ideals of military service. At the conclusion of his remarks, Major Maguire personally pinned each member who then introduced themselves to the audience by providing their name, military branch and rank.  Members who were present represented the US Army, Navy, Air Force and Marines, and served from World War II through the military actions in Kuwait, Afghanistan and Iraq.  A special celebration followed the pinning ceremony to further honor the veteran members.
